At least 67 children and teenagers were killed across the country in various forms of violence centered on student protests demanding quota reform and the resignation of the Awami League government. The majority of these deaths, 67 in total, were caused by gunshot wounds. Nine teenagers died due to burns, while one is believed to have died from sound grenade splinter injuries. Much of this violence, including the use of firearms, has been attributed to law enforcement agencies responding to the protests.
This tragic toll on young lives highlights the severity of the conflict and raises serious concerns about the use of excessive force against protesters, particularly minors. The high number of fatalities from gunshot wounds suggests a potentially disproportionate and lethal response by security forces to the demonstrations.
