During a protest rally in Sherpur, the members of the pro-government student wing Chhatra League attacked the demonstrators. The student protesters resisted and chased off the attackers. Amid this chaos, police suddenly drove a vehicle into the crowd of protesters, resulting in several immediate fatalities.
